Q4 ads? They are here!

Almost no brand does this right...

Hey, Ad Space!

Hope you're doing well! We're back in action this Friday with three new ads, and we can't wait to share them with you.

Let’s get rolling…

Ruggable

The first ad is from Ruggable.

We believe Ruggable has been featured a few times on AdSpace, and for good reasons.

"The hook is the most important part of your ad!"

We all know that by now. Instead, we want to focus on something more interesting…

Making an authentic ad.

That’s the real goal with UGC and that’s exactly why we chose this ad from Ruggable for today.

What makes this ad shine is how natural it feels—like she’s just sharing her experience while filming. I’m sure you’ll agree.

If you can get your creators to genuinely talk about the product while showing it, your ads will feel so much more real.

But, there are a couple of potential pitfalls to watch out for:

1) If your creator isn’t up to par, it can come off as even more staged because they’re inexperienced with this style. (Therefore it’s crucial to invest in talented creators and give them the right briefs or instructions).

2) You’ll have less footage to work with since you’re not blending talking-head shots (A-roll) with other clips (B-roll).

Although it can be hard to execute correctly, we recommend giving this format a shot if you have the resources.

Just keep those two points in mind if you’re considering producing it.

Rheal

The next ad is from Rheal.

There’s this common misconception that UGC has to be someone talking for 45 seconds, building up suspense for a big product reveal…

But honestly, that’s just not what we’re seeing in 2024.

Don’t get us wrong, that format still works great.

But you shouldn’t feel trapped by the idea that a UGC ad has to be long or involve someone speaking, it doesn’t.

What we love about this ad—besides it being short, visually appealing, and straight to the point—are two key things:

1) Rheal incorporates/shows real customer reviews from Meta, not just the typical TrustPilot or TikTok comment ones.

2) They use the “TikTok” font instead of their normal brand fonts.

These two elements give the ad a more authentic UGC vibe, keeping it from feeling too polished or commercial—and ultimately making it feel more Rheal.

See what we did there? 😉

Nomisk

Remember the ad we shared from CRAFTD a few weeks ago?

We mentioned how powerful it can be to feature the opposite sex in your ads—it’s a subtle yet effective way to tap into the desire to make your partner happy.

After all, we all want to give our loved ones something they need, especially if it helps with something as important as physical pain.

Nomisk nails this concept…

The “gifting angle” will be one of the most powerful ones for Q4.

With everyone on the lookout for presents, phrases like “ The Perfect Christmas gift” or “Christmas gift ideas for her/him” are right in the green.

This one is one to leverage going into the Black Friday period as well as the gifting season in general.

Takeaways from this week’s episode:

  • 1. GET BETTER TALENT: Ads that feel real and unpolished can be incredibly effective, especially when creating UGC. If they can, creators should try filming in scenes that make the whole thing feel natural. Don’t skimp out on talent here, invest in good creators. They’ll have it 10x easier making these types of ads.

  • 2. The real Rheal: UGC doesn’t have to be long or involve a person speaking. Short, visually appealing ads with a natural vibe can be just as effective. Ads like Rheal’s ad, which uses real customer reviews and familiar, native fonts feel more authentic.

  • 3. The gifting angle: The "gifting angle" is one of the most powerful angles for Q4. As people are actively searching for holiday presents, callouts like "The Perfect Christmas gift" or "Christmas gift ideas for her/him" will resonate with most people.

That’s a wrap for this week! 👋

As always, we hope you found some value in this week’s newsletter.

Our goal is to equip you with the insights and strategies you need to crush Q4 and create ads that don’t just perform well for the holiday season but can continue to drive results long after.
